The world of podcasts
The popularity of podcasts has skyrocketed in the last few years, becoming the modern, convenient form of radio. In the UK alone over 6 million people tune in every week. Listened to on commutes, during jobs, or during exercise, podcasts are in almost every household and their subject matter spans entertainment, education and social commentary. I have worked on projects that are recorded in the studio with guests that are on site or calling in via Skype or phone - and in a mix of genres. From my experience producing iTunes No.1 rated ‘Chineasy’ through 2017 and 2018, I have developed an ear for a succinct, engaging listen. So what’s involved?
Step 1 - Concept
I will help you focus your concept in order that you can best connect with your audience, attract new listeners and design a great show.
Step 2 - Recording
In order to record the podcast to the highest standard possible, we will help plan the best location to record and to a professional standard to match your budget. This makes a huge difference to the quality of the finished product. The best sounding podcasts are recorded in a studio environment, but can include audio that is recorded on mobile devices, or interviews.
Step 3 - Editing and Post Production
This process involves time cleaning the audio, cutting any unwanted sounds that presenters or interviewees have made such as coughs, ‘ums’, correcting voice volumes throughout the podcast and exporting files in the correct format and resolution. This is another crucial step in making a . Depending on the quality of the actors and guests, 15 minutes of audio can take an hour to clean.
Step 4 - Digital Distribution
It is important to know which channels to distribute your podcast through and this will most often be through an online host such as Audioboom, which enables the podcast to be downloaded by listeners of podcasts who use the biggest 3 platforms, iTunes, Amazon and Spotify. I can guide you through the options and help you decide the best way to reach your audience.
Step 5 - Marketing and Promotion
This is a crucial step to ensure that the podcast can be heard by everyone who you want to engage with. From selecting the best keywords that enable your podcast to appear in searches to spending money advertising, marketing your podcast is key.
A Bronze Package Podcast (10 - 15 minutes)
This is the perfect solution for getting your podcast started. We will record as simply as possible, using the easiest distribution method and the podcast will be edited to a professional standard. The length of the podcast will be between 10 - 15 minutes per episode.
A Silver Package Podcast (15 - 30 minutes)
The silver option is great for those who already have a following, but want to take the recording to the next level of quality. We will record with high level microphones, distributed and marketed. The podcast will be edited to a professional standard. The length of the podcast will be between 15 - 30 minutes per episode.
A Gold Package Podcast (up to 60 minutes)
The gold option is is the highest level to date and offers you a complete end to end solution for a high profile podcast. We will record with the best equipment and engineers, provide pre-production, planning and marketing. The podcast will be edited to a professional standard with every detail taken care of. The length of the podcast will be up to 60 minutes per episode.
